CLAUDE LE SAUTEUR

Student of prior French Canadian art masters Jean Paul Lemieux, Jean Dallaire and Omer Parent – Claude Le Sauteur developed his own style, with a pictorial twist that has marked the landscape and figurative painting of Quebec’s Charlevoix region.

Le Sauteur’s signature elongated people glide around his Art Car (2003-2006), painted into a green-flash, flowery field. Part of the Desmarais art collection and shown in the Claude Le Sauteur retrospective Le monde habité (2007) at the fine arts museum of Charlevoix, this Porsche 911 is embraced by buoyant energy, linking modern human form to nature.
